Scottish Tales
Two series on offer (so far) of different Scottish tales. One is a series of four books about modern folklore. The other is and will be a romantic / comedy(I think, but what do I know? I'm a guy). The second series (one book) is just starting. You gotta start somewhere.

The Story Behind the Stories
Why do I write?
I enjoy creating the fictional worlds and want to introduce them to others.

Why am I showing a picture of my dogs?
It is while walking the beasts (if they behave) that I get time to dream, create, construct, dismantle, throw away, rethink and live the stories floating around in my head.
Living on the west coast of Scotland, the weather is 'changeable' (wet with spells of sunshine). Being labs, they don't care. Wet, dry, hot or cold, they are happy being out. The old pooper-scooper behind them might as well do some thinking while trailing along behind, so I think of stories.

About Me
My name is Deryk Cameron Stronach
I was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1956. I spent my kindergarten years in Nigeria, my primary school years in Millport, Isle of Cumbrae, Scotland, my secondary school years in various places in England and my higher education in Germany. I received a Diploma in Fine Arts from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), a BA (Hons) in Fine Art with Contemporary Writing from the University of Huddersfield and a MA in Creative Writing from the University of Hull.
Leaving school, I joined the RAF, serving both as an Air Movements Operator and RAF Policeman. I served in the Sussex Police Force and held various roles in British Airways, both in the UK and Germany. I taught and counselled for the Ministry of Education in Singapore. Retiring from the MOE, I moved to Largs, Scotland, where I volunteer as a Launch Authority with the RNLI.
